Terms and Conditions

At Designed Environments Inc. we take great pride in the relationships we form with our customers. Our experience over the years has empowered us to develop a set of terms and conditions that have proven to be successful in assuring that we consistently serve our customers with excellence.

Payment Terms:

Cash, company check, VISA, Master Card, and Discover Credit card payments do not qualify for early pay discounts. Open Account 30 day terms may be available after approval by our credit department. Please call and request our credit application. Accounts in good standing may qualify for early pay discounts.

Shipping and Return Policies:

UPS Shipments: All shipments will be sent UPS unless the weight of a shipment exceeds 200 pounds or the package exceeds the girth & length dimension of 130”. Shipments that exceed the size maximums will be shipped common carrier. Common Carrier Shipments: Our shipping manager will choose the most economical carrier based on shipment weight, your location and the shipping lane time. Designed Environments Inc. does not set or control the shipping rates to your location. Unless other arrangements have been made, all common carrier shipments will be pre-paid and added to your invoice. All Freight carriers deliver the items shipped to the closest point of your address. A standard freight rate does not include bringing the items inside of your door. There is a large extra charge for inside delivery. If you can unload the shipment yourself (or with friends!), the standard freight rate requires you to take the items off of the back of the trailer. Designed Environments Inc. designs all our shipments to be able to be broken down inside the truck and unloaded by hand.

Custom made and special order goods are not returnable! The checkout counter and other ‘Wood Equipment’ items are custom built for your store. The slatwall and carpeting are also not returnable. Please carefully review your estimate quantities. We check and double check the quantities but you should confirm the quantities with your contractor. You may ship standard stock items back, at your expense, to us with advance approval from your account manager.

Damages and Shortages:

It is important that you count and inspect the exteriors of all cartons immediately upon receipt. Make sure any damage or shortage is noted on the Bill of Lading before signing! YOU MUST ADD A COMMENT ON THE BILL OF LADING STATING THAT THERE MIGHT BE CONCEALED DAMAGE DUE TO CRUSHED BOXES. You do NOT need to inspect the product inside of every box before signing the Bill of Lading. All freight claims must be filed directly with the freight line. Save ALL packaging material and take pictures if you have access to a camera. Feel free to contact us for assistance in filing your claim.
